Rinjani (part 1)

We were on our way to Senaru Pos, when we passed some wedding ceremonials long march along the way. We didn't know that it might be a best time to marry someone, only thought how it was coincidentally happen at the same time. As if it was right, we hope it would be a good sign to start our hiking journey on the next day.
One thing we knew already, to met a group from Jogja and a group from Semarang, was a great start up. We met wisely by the destiny, chosen by the time, and again, it was a kind of good sign of the day.

Parangloe Waterfall

If Bantimurung Waterfall is too mainstream for an adventure seeker, now i recommend to you, Parang Loe Waterfall. Located in Kab. Gowa, we can easily reach this place by public transportation or local called pete-pete from Makassar. Take a red pete-pete which is heading to Malino Highland near Balla Lompoa or at Terminal. Just tell the driver you want to stop in the entry gate of Parang Loe Waterfall. It is on the right side of the main road. For an easy clue, if you passed Bili-bili reservoir in the left side, it is nearby, about 15 minutes more. But if you still confused, just ask around. Based on my experience, locals are really helpful :)
You need to trek 4 km to reach the waterfall. It is a pleasant road, don't use flatshoes for girls :P  Waterfall is on a downside of the camping ground. There's no sign of its camping ground, unfortunately. Use your logic, it's a large empty field lol. Never try to make a visit on wet season (rain season). The down-trek will be so slippy and water amounts increase rapidly (and unpredictable) which make the area can be very dangerous.
So, if you travel around Makassar, or make a visit to Malino Highland in a dry season, never never hesitate to have a sort relaxing time here!

Expired Film Series

I'm not in a really good mood to make a post tonight. But still, i have to post any since i left this blog for weeks. Inspired by instagrammers who recently posted some photographs for their "expired film series", i decided to make it here also. Related to my current mood, i didn't enjoy my time using expired film. As for example, these pics from my trip on 2012, using Konica Centuria exp. 2010 (if i ain't mistaken). I personally dislike the colour. I expected to have a clear blue sky and sea, but in the end, i found everything turns into purple. Even the clouds. Huf! And the grain? Ewh, it is just too much.
Thus far, photography is about personal taste. Maybe for several people, they would like expired film result. Despite the price is cheaper than the fresh one, the result mmm.. you choose.
Happy shooting on film!

I Named It, Heaven : Madakaripura Waterfall

Today, i suddenly invited to join my friend's trip to Madakaripura Waterfall in Probolinggo. Since i already want to visit it for a long time, without any doubt, i decided to join her. Sadly, i didn't make any good preparation in shortly, the epic fail was i didn't bring any analogue camera. I just grab a DSLR with me and go. It didn't stop there. Once we arrived in Madakaripura, the memory card went error, so i couldn't take much pictures. Luckily, my friend who brought about three cameras, let me lent one of his, a mirrorless with contax rangefinder lens. SOOO EXCITED TO USE IT (since contax gear is my favourite one)! And taraaa...beside the waterfall itself was magically very beautiful, supported with this kind of advance gear, i happily made a lot of pictures, some of them even mesmerised my own self with its wonderful result. One thing, this Madakaripura which is only 3 hours from Malang or Surabaya, is a really worth to visit. I wouldn't think twice to make my second visit to there, anyone? :)

hello gift!

It took too much time to finally have any post again :( Here are some of my photographs that i made during these months (basically during my trip back to my hometown).
Since june, i luckily traveled a lot to some places, like Rinjani Mountain in Lombok, Togean Islands in Central Sulawesi, Lanjukang Island, Liukang Loe Island, and Kambing Island in South Sulawesi. Also some a-day-trips around the town. Seems like i reach about 20 negative rolls used until now. And i don't process it yet, eventually.
Once i arrived in Makassar, i tried to process one of my negative roll at the one and only photo lab in the town (which still accepted film process). But the results was really awful, completely upset me. Despite of expensive cost, the pictures came worst, the negative was broken and the colour wasn't show nice as i expected.
*humming
What else i can say?
It's already late, so good night. Keep shooting on films and appreciate the process it self (?). Welcome, september!

Photo : 1717

i felt so bad with the leak appeared on my mjuII results, but i got nothing to do with it since the only camera that worked on my trip to Batur Mountain is mjuII. My nikon fm suddenly got an error with its shutter machine at that time :( hopefully, even only by these photographs, i still can show to others how beautiful Mount Batur actually is :) enjoy!
